Hello! Today in class, we were asked to make 4 mood boards based on our choice of location, Afterwards, we then got to explain the reasoning behind the choices we make on each of the mood boards, including elements such as location, props, setting, props and so on. For my 4 mood boards, I decided to go with a picnic date, a funeral (cemetery), a wedding, and an arcade.
2. For my 2nd mood board, I decided to go with a funeral-themed setting. I decided to include images such as a casket, a cemetery and grieving people. The setting takes place in a cemetery outside, so it would have natural lighting. Since it's a funeral, I included people wearing formal, black clothing as wearing black symbolizes death. I also added white flowers as people usually bring them to show their sympathy and respect of the deceased; the white color symbolizing peace and new beginnings. I wanted the audience to respond to the setting with some sort of gloominess or sullenness like the grieving people on the mood board, knowing that the setting involves the death of a loved one, maybe even relating to the situation itself.
3. For my 3rd mood board, I decided to go with a wedding-themed setting. I decided to include a wedding venue, bouquet of flowers, cake, the couple and crowds of people. The setting of the wedding takes outside, so I chose pictures that have natural lighting. As for clothing, I included pictures of people wearing black, formal suits and dresses as it represents a sign of elegance. Using white The I wanted the audience to respond to the characters or couple as loving, affectionate and joyous since its a very special moment. I also want the audience to feel heartfelt and awe-struck of the extravagant event.
4. For my 4th and last mood board, I chose to do an arcade-themed setting. In his mood board, I included images such claw machines, tickets, games and a group of people with casual clothes. I wanted to use images that involved low-key lighting since the arcade is a dark place with a lot of bright, colorful lighting. Since its an arcade, I added bright, neon graphics to the mood board as the neon colors pops out and appeal to the eyes of the audience. There's a lot going on with the board in terms of graphics, which I wanted because it gives a loud, chaotic vibe like an arcade. I wanted the audience to respond to the characters as people having a fun, thrilling time together. The setting of my choice should make the audience feel excited and amused on the way the arcades are decorated and what they contain.
