Hello! This week, my group and I started editing our clips for our movie opener. I'm here to discuss about our process while editing.
The title of our film is called "Do No Harm." Since it's a thriller/horror movie, the fonts that we are somewhat planning to use from CapCut is Chiller, Creepster, and Nosifer. The editors in our group are me and Niliem Valdes. While we are primarily doing most of the editing, the rest of our members, Veronica Madrid and Kamryn May, helped contribute on what effects, transitions and fonts that we should use. For video effects and transitions, we added a black fade-out effect to transition a certain clip into the next one. We are planning on using transitions such as match-cuts, J-cuts and more when we get more clips. As for audio effects, we used some sounds like breathing, EKG monitor beeps, and eerie music in the background. Some problems that we did encounter during editing was trying to amplify the audio and suppress the background noises that occurred during filming. What we could do is record a voiceover and overlay the current audio with the new one. So far, we haven't really spent a lot of time editing as we've been focused on filming. I could say we've spent around one hour at most for editing at the moment. After this blogpost gets posted, we will continue to finish up recording the necessary clips that we need to complete our opener.
